Colorado Myths

Myth: Colorado is low-tech and has no gaming community.

Truth: Yes, we do have broadband and an established high-tech economy! In addition, the Game Dev Map lists 10 active game companies in the area, and the Colorado Game Developers Association lists almost 40 organizations who are active participants in the Colorado Game Development Community.

Myth: Colorado is cold and snowy.

Truth: Winters can be cold and snowy up in the mountains, but we’re at a lower elevation and we get 300 days of sunshine a year (that’s more than Florida or San Diego!)

Myth: It’s all ranchers and farmers.

Truth: Denver is a metropolitan city, and Boulder is a mid-size city, and they are chock full of all types; college kids, families, professionals, hippies, yuppies, tourists and politicians to name a few….but feel free to wear a cowboy hat if’n you wish!

Myth: Everybody there looks like the characters from South Park.

Truth: Well…that’s actually true.
